Hi and welcome to First Grade at Goshen Elementary School!

 

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. I currently live in O’Fallon, Illinois with my family.  I have two children, Jacob (22) and Heather (21) and our dogs Lily & Maya and the cat, Sylvester.  My son is a senior at University of Illinois and my daughter is a junior at University of Illinois.  My parents and my brothers family live in Bloomington, Il.  This is my twenty-fifth year as an educator.  Prior to joining District 7, twelve years ago I taught in Belleville, Illinois for 7 years and Naperville Illinois for 6 years.  My years in education have been diverse and fulfilling.  I’ve taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade. My personal education includes a degree from SIU-C in Elem. Ed, a Masters Degree from SIU-E in Curriculum and Instruction and continued education at SIU-E.

It is my pleasure to be your child’s first grade teacher.  It is my commitment to both you and your child to provide a safe, nurturing environment that allows every child, continual opportunities to engage in active, purposeful learning that challenges them to reach their highest level of potential.  My whole life I have always wanted to be a primary teacher, and entering my twenty-fifth year I still feel the same way.  I am just as excited as I was the first year, and I am delighted and thrilled to be your child’s teacher for this school year.
